No Man's Land

A multi period event held on 6th and 7th April at Bodrhyddan Hall, Dyserth Rd, Rhuddlan, Rhyll, LL18 5SB. Paul McNeilis is coordinating entries but you can book in yourself. Also look for No Man's Land on Facebook for more details.

NLC Crank up

To be held on the 19th to 21st April at Crooklands, Cumbria just off the M6 at junction 36. This will be a joint crank up and Drive It day in association with the Federation of British Historic Vehicles. The campsite is opposite the Crooklands Hotel whre a pre-booked meal will be available on the Saturday night. Parking for motirhomes and caravans is availble at £8 per night. Mid Lancs MVT Crank Up

20th and 21st April to be held at a new venue Shaw Hall Holiday Park 155 Smithy Ln, Scarisbrick, Ormskirk L40 8HJ. Unfortunately clashing with our own Crank up but listed for information. Our area is invited to join in.

Heskin Hall 1940s weekend

4th to 5th May at Heskin Hall, Wood Lane, Heskin, Chorley, PR7 5PA. A friendly gathering on this historic site and access to the shopping village for those urgent purchases.

Brougham Hall

Already booked up but you can always go for a day visit. Held on 10th to 12th May at Brougham Hall, Penrith, CA10 2DE.

Cheshire & Merseyside Camp

11th, 12th May an informal collection of vehicles and camping. The camp will be held at Blakemere Craft Centre, Sandiway, Northwich, CW8 2EB. Contact Dave Plumb on07770876479 or email him on davmaxATntlworld.com to book in to the event or ask any questions.

Chipping Steam Fair

To be held on the 25th to 27th May 2023. The Chipping Steam Fair format is back to normal for those that have attended before. If you haven't been before, where have you been? Forms are available from https://www.chippingsteamfair.com/forms

Kirkbride Fly In

For one day on the 26th May, at the Kirkbride airfield, Kirkbride Cumbria, CA7 5HP, there will be an open day and fly in for aircraft owners and enthusiasts. If you want to bring your MV along to display, you will be welcome. Hot food and trial flights are available. Camping is available too if you wish to stay overnight.

Cumbria Museum of Military Life Festival

To be held on 1st 2nd June 2024 at Carlisle Castle, CA3 8UR. I can't find confirmation of this but they appear to be the dates in a few people's calendars. Details of the rules can be found on the attached guidance.

Scorton Steam Fair

No longer being run. This is a blow to many of us but market forces dictated its cancellation.

Kendal Rugby Club D-Day commemoration

Kendal Rugby club are hosting a hog roast on the 6th June to commemorate the 80th anniversary of D-Day. Vehicles are welcome, and live music, games and entertainment will be provided. The event starts at 17.00 at Shap Road, Kendal, LA9 6NY

Wartime in the Vale

15th and 16th June the event will be held at the Ashdown Camp. Location is Ashdown Farm, Badsey Rd, Evesham, Worcestershire, WR11 7PA. Details can be found at https://ashdowncamp.com/.

Fylde Vintage Steam and Farm show

The 29th and 30th June are the dates for this show held at the Show Field, Wharles near Kirkham, PR4 3SN. A mixed collection of vehicles and farm paraphernalia will be on show. Details can be found at https://www.fyldevintageandfarmshow.co.uk/

Ingleton Operation Home Guard

Operation Homeguard, Ingleton's 1940s event, will be held on 6th and 7th July. Send enquiries to ingleton1940sweekendATgmail.com. There doesn't appear to be an upto date website but there are details on Facebook and there is an old website from 2023 http://www.ingleton40s.co.uk/.

Kirkby Srephen

Set up day is the 12th July and the event is open on the 13th and 14th July in Kirkby Stephen, Yorkshire where there will be a military weekend. Coordinated by Chris Hallam, there should be camping and facilities available. Further details follow from Boyan. "I have attached the entry form and code of conduct. We have a schools' day on the Friday so would very much appreciate support for that - you can arrive from Thursday 6pm onwards - all age vehicles welcome -modern and authentic camping and caravans/motorhomes if booked in. Catering during the day is at the station and in the evening at the Campsite opposite. Please send forms asap to wartimeweekend@gmail.com or let us know you intend to come and when you are arriving as replies to this message." The form is available by clicking here.

Southport Airshow

13th and 14th July the airshow will be visible from the sea front, or tickets for the show at the airfield can be bought online. Details can be found at https://www.visitsouthport.com/airshow.

Yorkshire Wartime Experience

9th, 10th and 11th August are the dates for the YWE. Bookings can be made at https://www.yorkshirewartime.co.uk/bookingpage as soon as the forms are available. We are coordinating entries for our group so that we can camp together, but you must book yourself in first with the event.

Lytham Wartime weekend

The dates for Lytham are 17th to 18th August 2024, and will be held on the Lytham Green, next to the sea. Details of the event can be found at https://www.discoverfylde.co.uk/lytham1940s/ but note the camping restrictions that apply, particularly to motorhomes and caravans. Note that the website includes a link to an expression of interest in the event. No booking forms are required.

Morecambe 1940s revival event

On the 3rd and 4th August there will be an event to which we have been invited at Poulton, near Morecambe (not to be confused with the Poulton near Blackpool). See https://m40srev.weebly.com/ for more details.

The Victory Show

To be held on 30th August to 1st September 2024 at Foxlands Farm, Cosby, Leicestershire, LE9 1SG the show is a mixture of military re-enactors and vehicles together with some flying displays. Grassington 40s weekend

Military vehicles in camps are no longer possible at this event as there is no camping on the National Trust car park so the only options are to go as a re-enactor or display your vehicle in the village on the day itself. Your vehicle must be booked in and a spot allocated to you in the village. It is on from 21st to 22nd September at Grassington, Near Skipton, Yorkshire. It can be worth going simply for the fish and chips.
